In order to gain a deeper understanding of the impact social media has on the youth, I would like to recommend you the following web pages.
The fist website is about a documentary movie called LIKE by IndieFlix Original. It was released in October 2018. The documentary highlights modern effects of social media on the current generation as well as future generation. The movie covers the social media nature and how it impacted teenagers’ mental health and lives. The social media usage among young adults have become integral to their lives. Therefore, the purpose of the movie is to help find balance between virtual and real world (Asbury, 2019).
On the web page, you can find a short trailer which shows the key moments of the movie and summarizes the plot.
Watching this documentary can give us a lesson on how to use social media in a right way.

The second website focuses on the effect of social media on teenagers’ health and well-being. Social platforms such as Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram increase feelings of anxiety, loneliness, depression, and low self-esteem. This source provides a better overview of the topic and adds upon the issues media brings to lives of young adults. In addition, suggestions for parents on how to minimize the risks associated with social media usage and online life are presented.

The third website focuses on the impact social media influencers have on the youth. Beauty bloggers, video game vloggers or instafamous people have a big effect on teenagers’ purchasing decisions. Nowadays, young people learn about new products mostly through social media and, in advertising, they seem to trust more social media influencers than traditional celebrities.
The article explains why social media influencers assume to have impact in the lives of minors and adolescents and create a desire for a product they are advertising online.

Hope you will find these websites both interesting and useful!
