I would like to encourage you to look at some other blogs of my classmates. There is many other issues in media and society which need to be covered and discussed. Here are my 5 recommendations.

The first website is about the portrayal of female in media by Nabiha Sarraj. I strongly recommend not only women but also men to visit this website and learn something more about the issues female in media face. Bringing bigger awareness of gender discrimination and gender stereotypes to the world would make a great contribution in minimizing the negative effects on future generation of girls.
The second website is about racial bias in media by Soma Burhan. She described the issue very thoroughly and provided strong arguments. Racism is still a big issue even in the contemporary society. Therefore, Soma talks about how media discriminates based on a person’s race and religion as well as how it negatively contributes to racial biases within society. Even though there has been a positive change from the past regarding racism, this issue is still represented in media, therefore, people need to constantly remind themselves of its occurrence as well as its impacts.
My third choice is the website about the negative impact of media on children and adolescents by Nikolay Popov. I want to recommend this website as it gives readers a bigger overview of the topic and focuses on the effect of other forms of media – not only social media platforms discussed in my blog. It provides a warning where and how can online harm lurk on the internet and how the youth is exposed to it. Other people, especially parents, should be aware of this issue.
The fourth recommendation is the website about Instragm vs. reality by Adela Liskova. Another blog which relates to my issue as well. Adela focused on Instagram which is currently one of the most famous social platform. She provides a deeper insight into issues associated with body image and Instagram as well as how Instagram has negative effects on teenagers’ self-esteem or overall satisfaction with their lives.

The last recommended website is about animal rights in media by Yelyzaveta Tuka. Because I am an animal lover, I considered her website very sad and emotional as well as interesting. Animals do not have the same rights as humans. However, this does not mean that they do not have rights at all or that they are not able to feel just because they are not able to express their emotions through words and sentences. Liza’s blog fulfilled her purpose – to inform and create greater awareness of animal abuse so we can help to minimize their suffering.
Great job everyone!
Hope you enjoyed other blogs and learned something new too!
